Fashion Meets Art with Yeojin Bae

I was delighted to receive the invitation for the Fashion meets Art event last week, which was held at the No Vacancy Art Gallery in Melbourne, and was hosted by the talented Yeojin Bae.

The evening celebrated the start of L’Oreal Fashion Week, and the mark of International Women’s Day which set the perfect tone for such a coveted affair.

Yeojin Bae mingled with her guests, and we were treated to a sneak peak at her new autumn winter range “LINEFORCE” which was inspired by the Art Nouveau philosophy, of line-force with a focus on the curvature of the female form.

The designer plays with simplicity, sophistication and quality fabrics, which she believes not only play a big role in the longevity of her pieces but also decides whether they end up in a well sought after Vintage store, or the $5 bin!

Yeojin Bae spent time discussing her successful career, the recent opening of her LA showroom, and of course the Sex and the City moment dressing Sarah Jessica Parker on her last visit to Melbourne.

As I embraced this moment, I decided that no longer will I subject myself to the commercial parody that surrounds the catwalk of LMFF! This is how I want to see Australian Fashion… mixed with art and champagne!
